The names "Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie" are more likely to conjure the two women pictured on the right (above) than the ones in the left photograph. That's because nearly seven years after their first cousin Prince William married Kate Middleton, the two royals are still haunted by the images that catapulted them into meme territory. As news of the British Vogue interview made rounds on Thursday, outlets simplified the bullying, reporting that the sisters were upset over the ridicule over their hats. But it's more complicated than that, and it goes back to before they were even born. So, who are Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, anyway? The sisters are the only two children of Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Andrew, the third child of Queen Elizabeth, which makes the sisters first cousins with Princes William and Harry.
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are members of the most well-known royal family in the world — they're Prince William and Prince Harry's first cousins, and the daughters of Queen Elizabeth's second son, Prince Andrew — which has made them tabloid fixtures for most of their lives. And while they regularly rise above what's been written about them (something which is considered to be a royal requirement), there was one instance in which a tabloid story written about them reduced both women to tears. Both hats were designed by famed British milliner Philip Treacy. Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice got a lot of attention for their fascinators at the royal wedding of Prince William to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, on April 29, 2011.Getty Images. The tabloids had what can only be described as a field day and The Daily Mail went so far as to call their looks "outlandish."
Or Princess Eugenie? Both looked pretty rough, in my opinion, but no one compares to Samantha Cameron (the PM’s wife) for Worst Dressed in my eyes. Sam wasn’t wearing a hat, her dress was unflattering (bordering on fug), and she looked like she just rolled out of bed. But back to the princesses. Yikes. Beatrice wore tan-beige, with a ginormous… headpiece. I can’t call it a hat, and it’s not a fascinator, in my opinion. It’s just a fug headpiece, and I do not care for it. The suit is rough too – too much doily action happening at the collar.

What was Princess Eugenie's excuse? And what about Princess Beatrice? They look like Ugly Stepsisters who might be mean to Cinderkate. Let's start with Princess Eugenie, the brunette. She's wearing a Vivienne Westwood dress and what is being called a "matching" hat. So she's wearing a whole lot of hat and a whole lot of eyeliner. Between her and her sister, it's likely that they used an entire eye pencil down to a nub. Her hair looks like it could use a good brushing in its low pony. I imagine that if you have bangs, or "fringe", if we're all being British today, that hat makes your styling a little more difficult. She's certainly making it look difficult.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been increasingly thrust into the public eye as they’ve gotten older. The two made headlines at the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince Harry, for example, when their dresses and hats were compared to the evil stepsisters from Cinderella. Although they aren’t the most popular royals and don’t have their every move detailed in the tabloids, the two women have certainly seen their fair share of media attention over the years. Now, with Eugenie set to marry her beau, Jack Brooksbank, at St George’s Chapel, in Windsor, in October, the two know that all
