Formula One (also Formula 1 or F1) is the highest class of single-seater auto racing sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and owned by the Formula One Group. The FIA Formula One World Championship has been one of the premier forms of racing around the world since its inaugural season in 1950. The word "formula" in the name refers to the set of rules to which all participants' cars must conform. A Formula One season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix
Formula 1 97 (known as Formula 1 Championship Edition in the United States) is a racing video game and the sequel to the 1996 video game Formula 1. It is the second game in the Formula One series, released in 1997 on the PlayStation and PC. Developed by Bizarre Creations and published through Psygnosis, the game depicts the 1997 Formula One season. It was the first in the series to have a specific driver on the front cover: Michael Schumacher in his Ferrari appears on most editions, whilst Olivier
The FIA has tightened the rules on jump-starts in Formula 1 for 2018, and opened up the possibility for penalties even if the automated detection system is not triggered. What are officially known as false starts came under scrutiny at the Austrian Grand Prix this year when winner Valtteri Bottas appeared to move early, but was not penalised.
Sebastian Vettel’s Chinese Grand Prix start has led to a change to regulations. The FIA will make Formula 1 jump start rules stricter next year, meaning that penalties could be issued even if the automated detection system is not triggered. False starts were an issue at the Austrian Grand Prix when winner Valtteri Bottas appeared to move early but went unpunished. Rival drivers believed that Bottas could not have reacted so quickly without anticipating the start. However, Sebastian Vettel’s grid positioning at the Chine Grand Prix has led to a change to the wording of the regulations.

EMC, along with the Lotus F1 Team, just set the Guinness World Record for longest jump length by having a semi-truck jump over an F1 racer. Professional stunt driver Mike Ryan drove the truck and designed the stunt with Martin Ivanov steering the F1 car, Car and Driver reported. Coincidentally, Car and Driver states that both men have worked as stunt drivers in not only the Fast and the Furious series, but also the James Bond and Bourne films.
The Formula One World Drivers' Championship (WDC) is the most successful Formula One race car driver of the year. The award is given by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) to the driver who scores the most points during a season. The WDC was first awarded in 1950, to Giuseppe "Nino" Farina. The first driver to win more than one Championship was Alberto Ascari, in 1952 and 1953. The latest driver awarded the championship is called the reigning or defending champion. As of the end of the
Formula 1 drivers who don't line up their car correctly on a starting grid in 2018 will run the risk of incurring a penalty for a false start. Current regulations rely only on transponder data to define whether a start was jumped or not by a driver, but the 2018 article now includes a provision relating to positioning. Absurd F1 grid penalty system could get worse in 2018! Article 36.13 of the FIA Sporting Regulations will say the following: "Either of the penalties under Articles 38.3c) or d) will be imposed on any driver who is judged to have: "a) Moved before the start signal is given, such judgement being made by an FIA approved and supplied transponder fitted to each car, or

Apart from being one of the most amazing 3D animations I've seen in a while, this Formula 1 2009 video shows how the new KERS works, a kinetic-to-electric-energy system that allows for speed jumps. KERS is short for Kinetic Energy Recovery System, an ingenious mechanical device that recovers wasted kinetic energy generated while braking. It converts that energy into electric power, which gets stored in a battery in the car's front. And then the really cool part comes: Once every lap, the battery reaches its full capacity and the F1 car driver can click a button to obtain a 6.5 second
