Conducted by Ipsos on behalf of the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), in partnership with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Internet Society (ISOC), the survey was conducted between December 29, 2017, and March 5, 2018, and reached 25,262 internet users in 25 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong (China)  As a result, many around the globe are changing their behaviour online, a trend with economic and societal implications. Twelve percent of global internet users report making fewer online purchases. Ten percent have closed social media accounts and seven percent are using the internet less often overall, compared to one year ago.

Ipsos’ new Global Advisor study on Cyberbullying finds that even though awareness of cyberbullying is increasing globally, 25% of adults have still never heard of it. How many parents are aware of someone in the community who’s been cyberbullied, or say their own child has experienced it? And do parents feel that existing anti-bullying measures are effective for cyberbullying?  In the latest Ipsos Global Advisor report, we asked people in 27 countries around the world for their views about inclusiveness, and created an index to compare countries’ acceptance of social and cultural diversity.
